Location areas
Location areas are used to divide the radio area into as many as four locally sub-
divided supply ranges. The system knows the location area in which a handset is
located and only needs to send messages to the handset within that location area.
Location area partitioning helps to reduce the system load caused by the signal-
ling of incoming calls.
