Significance of the LEDs
The 4 LEDs indicate the equipment status and the current direction of the data
transmission.

In the test mode all the LEDs blink very quickly and in unison.
Signalling the Ready Status
The DTR signal (Data Terminal Ready) must be used to indicate to the PA that the
data terminal equipment connected is ready. If this signal is not available no data
will be sent.

Tab. 4.53 indicates the type of plug-in connections used on the equipment
(female = socket and male = connector) and the DTE or DCE equipment type.
