The O-00240V-A MDU ONT supports the following features:
• an FSAN compliant 24 living unit GPON ONU
• 24 VDSL2 (30MHz) ports
• 2.4 Gb/s downstream and 1.2 Gb/s upstream GPON line rate
• one PON interface capable of a sustained link-layered throughput of 2.4 Gb/s
downstream and 1.2 Gb/s upstream simultaneously
• 1640 ft. (500 m) target loop length
• VDSL service using up to 2 Alloc-IDs and 5 Port-IDs per VDSL port (assuming
equal distribution across all 24 VDSL ports)
• deployment scenarios are 19” data rack mounting, and cabinet mounting
• button on the front panel (but also accessible from a network manager) that
activates a script for collecting relevant data and transferring it into a reserved
area of flash memory
• maximum of 8 Cos per VDSL2 port (per 802.1 p mapping)
Modular ONT and service plug-in units
The modular ONT is used for subscribers living in multi-dwelling residences, such
as an apartment building. The modular ONT contains service plug-in units, which
provide combinations of voice, data, and video services to subscribers and also
integrate VDSL and POTS interfaces. The modular ONT enclosure is
environmentally hardened and installs outside the multi-dwelling residence.
The modular ONT:
• GEM mode support for efficient IP/Ethernet service traffic transport
• one GPON interface capable of 1.244 Gb/s upstream and 2.488 GB/s downstream
line rates as per G.984.3 using an SC/APC or OptiTap connector
• operates on the same PON with up to eight other modular ONT units.
• offers voice and data carried over the PON between the LT and the modular ONT
on a 1490 nm downstream and 1310 nm upstream link
• provides asymmetric optical traffic (2.4 Gb/s downstream and
1.2 Gb/s upstream)
• is externally hardened for mounting the unit outdoors
• is locally powered with battery backup UPS
• supports optional removable fiber splice tray for splicing SC connectors onto the
fiber optic cable or OptiTap type preterminated SC connectors
The service plug-in unit provides:
• customer interfaces for voice and data services
• voice interworking function from the analog POTS lines to the VoIP/Ethernet
layers
• interworking function from the VDSL layer and the Ethernet layer
• temperature hardened service plug-in unit
Currently, the modular ONT is only available for the ANSI market.
