Status Indicators Appendix A
Power Status Indicators
The power status indicators show the status of MOD Power and SA Power.
MOD Power Indicator
Table 42 describes the MOD Power indicator on a CompactLogix 5480
controller.
SA Power Indicator
Table 43 describes the SA Power indicator on a CompactLogix 5480
controller.
Table 42 - MOD Power Indicator
State Description
Off No power is applied.
Steady green A valid power level, that is, 18…32V DC, is applied to the RTB.
(1)
(1) Although unlikely, it is possible that there is enough Module power present for the indicator to turn steady green but the power
is not valid because the supply current or inrush current is undersized.
Steady red An invalid power level, that is <18V DC or >32V DC, is applied to the RTB.
Table 43 - SA Power Indicator
State Description
Off One of the following:
• SA power is not present
• Status of SA power is unknown
Steady green Sensor Actuator Power is present
(1)
(1) Although unlikely, it is possible that there is enough SA Power present for the indicator to turn steady green but the power is not
valid. Valid power is 18…32V DC in applications that require DC voltage and 18…240V AC in applications that require AC
voltage.
If SA Power is invalid, we recommend that you make sure that the external power supply is working correctly, properly sized for
your application and that all wiring is correct.
