After the ControlFlash procedure is completed and the CompactLogix 5480
reboots, you must enter Operating System Utilities mode to reinstall the
Operating System.

Install the Windows Kit
You can install the Windows Kit with ControlFLASHâ„¢ or ControlFLASHâ„¢
Plus software. This publication describes how to use ControlFLASH software.
The installation process includes the following parts.
• Controller firmware is installed on the controller.
This controller firmware installation occurs regardless of whether your
controller already has working firmware on it or not.
• The Operating System installer is installed on the controller.
