For sample tubes with control:
Odd-numbered ports: Sample tube with control (attach barcode
labels if needed)
[About 13 mm diameter]
Use the port guides on the rack.
[About 15 mm diameter]
Remove the port guides.
Even-numbered ports: Leave the ports empty.
4 Load the hemolysis control rack onto the sampler.

5 Set the HbA1c control measurement conditions (when needed).
Set the HbA1c control measurement conditions listed below (see “3.5.3. Setting the HbA1c Measurement Conditions”
on page 3-16). If already set, skip to step 6.
• Control expected values (required to use the control of a different lot)
• Control measurement count
• Control error range
• Operation if control error occurs
IMPORTANT:
Do not set a sample cup in the port next to a sample tube with control. The sample tube will be recognized for
barcode reading and the control in the tube will not be measured. Also, the barcode of the sample tube will be
assigned to the sample in the sample cup.
NOTE:
When the “sample ID auto-reading function” is turned off, set sample tubes with the barcode labels facing to
the main body side so that barcodes are read correctly.
REFERENCE:
If sample rack transportation is set to “loop transportation”:
Load the empty start rack and then the hemolysis control rack onto the sampler.
To perform normal measurements following control measurement:
Load the hemolysis control rack and then normal racks onto the sampler.
