2 Label the sample tubes with ID barcode labels (when needed).
Attach ID barcode labels to the sample tubes when measurement results are managed by sample IDs. Go to step 3 if
IDs are not used.
For sample cups with control:
Attach barcode labels to empty sample tubes.
See step 2 in “2.5.1. Preparing Samples” on page 2-19.
For sample tubes with control:
Attach barcode labels to the sample tubes with control.
See step 2 in “2.5.1. Preparing Samples” on page 2-19.
3 Set the control in the hemolysis control rack.
a Set the sample containers in the ports of the hemolysis control rack.
• Up to 5 sample containers with control can be set in the hemolysis control rack.
• See “ When preparing sample cups with sample:” b of step 3 in “2.5.1. Preparing Samples” on page 2-21.
For sample cups with control (without barcode labels):
Odd-numbered ports: Leave the ports empty.
Even-numbered ports: Sample cups with control
For sample cups with control (with barcode labels):
Odd-numbered ports: Sample tubes with barcode labels
[About 13 mm diameter]
Use the port guides on the rack.
[About 15 mm diameter]
Remove the port guides.
Even-numbered ports: Sample cups with control
Example: The ID read from the barcode of port 1 is assigned to the control in port 2.
NOTE:
Do not set whole blood samples in the unused ports of the hemolysis control rack to avoid seriously degrading
the column. If whole blood is measured with the hemolysis control rack, it is recommended to replace the
column with a new one. To perform normal measurements following a control measurement, be sure to set the
samples in a separate sample rack from the hemolysis control rack.
