Figure 4.4.9 – PITON-type element under ISO 6489-4
To connect agricultural machines to the piton-type unit, it is necessary to remove
pin 1 (figure 4.4.9), pull keeper 2 back, mount the coupling eye of the agricultural machine
on draw pin 3, set keeper 2 and pin 1 to the initial position. Pin 1 must be secured with a
forelock.
To rearrange the python-type element in height, it is necessary to remove forelocks
4 of locking pins 5 on the right and on the left on the rear surface of the element, then,
supporting the entire element from below, remove both locking pins 5 from the body of the
element and from the guide holes of the tow hitch bracket. Having moved the python-type
element to the required height, it is necessary to insert locking pins 5 into the holes of the
guides of the tow hitch bracket and in the side surfaces of the element body, aligning
them. Then you should install forelocks 4 in place to secure the pins.
ATTENTION: IT IS FORBIDDEN TO PUT THE PITON-TYPE ELEMENT TO PO-
SITIONS WHERE ITS BODY JUTS OUT OF THE TOW HITCH BRACKET END (UP OR
DOWN) FOR MORE THAN 15 MM!
ATTENTION: TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE RELATIVE CALCULATED VALUE
OF AXIAL FORCES (D) PERMISSIBLE FOR THIS ELEMENT, THE MASS OF THE
SEMI-TRAILER OR THE MACHINE TO BE ATTACHED TO THE PITON-TYPE ELEMENT
SHALL NOT EXCEED 12 TONS!
