5 MAINTENANCE
5.1 General instructions
Maintenance service (MS) is needed to maintain the tractor in operable state during
operation. Non compliance with the specified intervals and low quality of MS may result in
reduction of tractor life, increase in the number of failures, engine power loss and increase
in expenses for tractor operation. Operator shall carry out daily inspection of the tractor,
excluding fastener torque-retention loss, fuel, liquid, and oil leakage, dirt and other depos-
its accumulation, which can cause operating troubles, ignition or accidents.
Notes about maintenance service shall be made in the tractor service book.
Comply with storage precautions and waste recovery rules. Never discharge used
liquid on the ground. Use special tanks for safe storage of waste.
WARNING: DURING CARRYING OUT OF MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR SER-
VICES COMPLY WITH SAFETY PRECAUTIONS, LISTED IN SUBSECTION 5.6 “SAFE-
TY MEASURES DURING MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR OPERATIONS”!
ATTENTION: IF THERE ARE NO SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS, BEFORE STARTING
ANY MAINTENANCE OR ADJUSTMENT SERVICES, ETC., STOP THE DIESEL ENGINE
AND ENGAGE PARKING BRAKES. IN CASE SAFETY GUARDS AND COVERS WERE
REMOVED, MAKE SURE THEY ARE BACK IN THEIR PLACES AFTER MAINTENANCE
SERVICES HAS BEEN COMPLETED, BEFORE YOU START OPERATING THE TRAC-
TOR!
During maintenance operations for hydraulic systems of lift linkages and steering,
oil change and filter replacement intervals shall be observed thoroughly. It is not allowed to
use oil, not specified in the tractor operation manual for filling up (refilling).
Before refilling, replacement or cleaning of filter cartridges, clean filler plugs, necks,
filter caps, and adjoining surfaces from dirt and dust. It is required to remove stickers from
filters and filter cartridges. During replacement of filter cartridges, wash internal surfaces of
filter housings and caps with diesel fuel.
When the tractor is coupled with hydraulically-operated implements, clean clutches,
fittings, adapting pipes and other connecting parts of the implement and the tractor thor-
oughly.
In case the hydraulic lift linkage operates with hydraulically-operated implements
filled with oil of unknown origin, the oil in the implement should be replaced with the oil,
primed into the tractor hydraulic lift linkage.
Purity of the hydraulic system oil ensures its fail-safe operation.
When operating the tractor with front ballast weights attached, it is required to check
the threaded joints’ tightening torque of the front ballast weights regularly. The tightening
torques for the threaded joints of the front ballast weight are provided in subsection 4.6
“Ballast weight installation”.
