4.4.16 Determining the maximum permissible weight of towed trailer depending on
the trailer type and its brake system
Maximum permissible weight of towed trailer depending on the trailer type and its
brake system is presented in table 4.4.15 and is given on the marking plate of the tractor.

where:
T-1 is a trailer with a draft pole. Trailer of R category equipped with not less than
two axles and a towing device (tow hitch) which can move vertically relative to the trailer
and does not transmit any significant static load to the tractor.
T-2 is a trailer with a rigid hitch. Trailer of R category with one or several axles
equipped with a draft pole which transmits a significant static load to the tractor due to its
design and which does not qualify as a center-axle trailer.
T-3 is a center-axle trailer. Trailer of R category in which axle(s) is (are) displaced
relative to the center of mass under trailer full load in such a way that only an insignificant
static vertical load not exceeding 10% of trailer weight or 1000 daN (the smaller of the
mentioned values) is transmitted to the tractor.
B-1 is a trailer without brakes.
B-2 is a trailer with inertia brake.
B-3 is a trailer with hydraulic brake (trailer brakes are interlocked with tractor service
brakes).
В-4 is a trailer with pneumatic brake (trailer brakes are interlocked with tractor
brakes).
