3.2 Tractor use
3.2.1 Boarding the tractor
The tractor is boarded through the left door of the cab. To make tractor boarding
easier, there is a cab handrail and foot step.
3.2.2 Preparing for start and starting the engine
To start the engine of tractorBELARUS-82.3” perform the following actions:
- engage the tractor parking brake;
- if required, fill in fuel and bleed the fuel delivery system to remove air;
- set the fuel feed control handle into the position that corresponds to the maximum
fuel supply to the engine;
- set handle 28 (Figure 2.1.1) of rear PTO drive switch into the Neutral position,
and RPTO control switch 7 (Figure 2.12.1) of the rear PTO control into position “off.
- the handles of the hydraulic system distributor control shall stay in “neutral” posi-
tion;
- rear axle DL and FDA drive switches shall be in position “off”.
- switch the draft regulator control handle (if installed) into the neutral position;
- set GB gear shifting lever in “neutral” position;
- turn on the accumulator battery disconnect switch; two annunciators of AB activa-
tion/deactivation will light up on the instrument panel thus informing on AB engagement into
tractor on-board network;
- turn the key of the starter and instruments switch from “0” position into position “I”.
Herewith:
1) On the instrument panel , the buzzer and all annunciators will turn on for not more
than two seconds, the liquid crystal display will show a welcome screen, and the indicators
needles will “shake” on indicators’ zero marks thus confirming workability of annunciators,
display and needle indicators.
2) After two seconds, the instrument panel shall display only the following annuncia-
tors:
- parking brake annunciator;
- annunciator of alternator operation;
- annunciator of emergency oil pressure in the engine;
- annunciator of emergency oil pressure in transmission;
- annunciator of emergency oil pressure in HSC;
- annunciator of emergency air pressure in the pneumatic system (if it is below the
permissible level);
- annunciator of low fuel level (if the fuel volume in the tank drops to 1/8 of the
tank’s total capacity);
- annunciator of heating plugs (if engine temperature is lower than 30 °С).
If failures are detected, the instrument panel lights up annunciators of critical and
(or) non-critical failures, the buzzer activates and a brief description of the detected failures
appears on the screen. The detected faults shall be eliminated before the engine start.
