3.2 Tractor use
3.2.1 Boarding the tractor
The tractor is boarded through the left door of the cab. To make tractor boarding
easier, there is a cab handrail and foot step.
3.2.2 Preparing for start and starting the engine
To start the engine of tractor “BELARUS-82.3” perform the following actions:
- engage the tractor parking brake;
- if required, fill in fuel and bleed the fuel delivery system to remove air;
- set the fuel feed control handle into the position that corresponds to the maximum
fuel supply to the engine;
- set handle 28 (Figure 2.1.1) of rear PTO drive switch into the “Neutral” position,
and RPTO control switch 7 (Figure 2.12.1) of the rear PTO control into position “off”.
- the handles of the hydraulic system distributor control shall stay in “neutral” posi-
tion;
- rear axle DL and FDA drive switches shall be in position “off”.
- switch the draft regulator control handle (if installed) into the neutral position;
- set GB gear shifting lever in “neutral” position;
- turn on the accumulator battery disconnect switch; two annunciators of AB activa-
tion/deactivation will light up on the instrument panel thus informing on AB engagement into
tractor on-board network;
- turn the key of the starter and instruments switch from “0” position into position “I”.
Herewith:
1) On the instrument panel , the buzzer and all annunciators will turn on for not more
than two seconds, the liquid crystal display will show a welcome screen, and the indicators’
needles will “shake” on indicators’ zero marks – thus confirming workability of annunciators,
display and needle indicators.
2) After two seconds, the instrument panel shall display only the following annuncia-
tors:
- parking brake annunciator;
- annunciator of alternator operation;
- annunciator of emergency oil pressure in the engine;
- annunciator of emergency oil pressure in transmission;
- annunciator of emergency oil pressure in HSC;
- annunciator of emergency air pressure in the pneumatic system (if it is below the
permissible level);
- annunciator of low fuel level (if the fuel volume in the tank drops to 1/8 of the
tank’s total capacity);
- annunciator of heating plugs (if engine temperature is lower than 30 °С).
If failures are detected, the instrument panel lights up annunciators of critical and
(or) non-critical failures, the buzzer activates and a brief description of the detected failures
appears on the screen. The detected faults shall be eliminated before the engine start.
