4.10.4 Pouring water (solution) into the tires to increase adhesion weight
Filling the tires with water (solution) is done for the purpose of increasing the adhe-
sive weight (increase the tractor traction power).
ATTENTION: IN THIS CASE THE LOAD ON A TIRE, WITH A GIVEN INNER
PRESSURE, SHALL BE DECREASED BY THE WEIGHT OF THE WATER THAT HAS
BEEN POURED IN!
ATTENTION: IN CONDITIONS OF SATISFACTORY AND SUFFICIENT TIRE AD-
HESION TO THE GROUND, FILLING UP THE TIRES WITH LIQUID IS NOT RECOM-
MENDED BECAUSE OF THE TRANSMISSION OVERLOAD!
ATTENTION: ADDITIONAL LOADING OF WHEELS BY FILLING TIRES WITH
WATER (SOLUTION) SHALL BE USED ONLY IN CASE WHEN TIRE ADHESION TO
THE GROUND IS INSUFFICIENT IN ADVERSE CONDITIONS (ON SANDY, WATER-
LOGGED SOILS, ETC.). TIRES FILLED WITH LIQUID IMPAIR THE SMOOTHNESS OF
TRACTOR TRAVEL AT SPEEDS EXCEEDING 15 KM/H, AND IN CASE THE TIRE RUNS
INTO ANY OBSTACLE, CARCASS BREAK MAY HAPPEN!
ATTENTION: IT IS FORBIDDEN TO FILL THE TIRES WITH WATER (SOLUTION)
ABOVE 75% OF THEIR VOLUME AS OVERSIZE AMOUNT OF LIQUID MAY RESULT IN
BREAK-DOWN OF TIRES (TIRE CASING OR INNER TUBES)!
Use of water (solution) to fill in the tires increases significantly tire stiffness, track
depth and compaction of soil. If it is essential to use water (solution), it is recommended to
fill in all tires up to equal levels not exceeding 40%.
Water (solution) volume per one tire with 40% and 75% fillings are shown in table
4.10.1.
ATTENTION: FILLING THE TIRES WITH WATER (SOLUTION) ABOVE 40%
SHALL BE THE ULTIMATE ALTERNATIVE!

During cold season when the temperature is below plus С, to avoid water freez-
ing risk it is necessary to make a solution by means of adding calcium chloride into water
according to table 4.10.2.
Table 4.10.2 Calcium chloride quantity required to make a solution needed for fill-
ing in the tires when the ambient temperature is below plus 5º С

WARNING: WHILE MAKING THE SOLUTION OF LIQUID BALLAST YOU
SHOULD ALWAYS ADD CALCIUM CHLORIDE INTO WATER AND STIR UNTIL THE
CALCIUM CHLORIDE IS DISSOLVED! NEVER ADD WATER INTO CALCIUM CHLO-
RIDE! WHEN MAKING THE SOLUTION, WEAR PROTECTIVE GLASSES! IN CASE THE
SOLUTION CONTACTS EYES, RINSE WITH PURE COLD WATER FOR FIVE
MINUTES! SEEK MEDICAL HELP AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!
