1.3 Tractor composition
The tractor framework is semi-frame.
Undercarriage: front and rear driving wheels, with pneumatic tires of low pressure.
Steering wheels are front wheels. The wheels can be twinned by means of spacers.
The tractor BELARUS-82.3 is equipped with 4-stroke piston four-cylinder internal
combustion engine with in-line vertical arrangement of cylinders, with direct injection of die-
sel fuel and compression ignition,
The installed engine (D-243S2) meets the environmental requirements of Stage 2.
The system of engine lubrication is combined; some parts are lubricated under
pressure, some by spattering. The lubrication system consists of an oil crankcase, oil
pump, liquid-oil heat exchanger, full-flow indecomposable oil filter with paper filter car-
tridge.
The engine fuel supply system consists of fuel pump, atomizers, low-pressure
tubes, high pressure fuel pipelines, coarse fuel filter, fine fuel filter.
The system of engine start-up involves an electric starter. Start-up under low envi-
ronmental temperatures is facilitated by means of heating plugs.
The system of air delivery consists of an air intake duct and an air cleaner. The air
cleaner is of a combined type, with dry centrifugal (monocyclone) and oil inertial contact air
purification.
The cooling system is of a closed-type with coolant compulsory circulation executed
by a centrifugal pump. The water pump is driven by a V-belt from the crankshaft pulley.
For acceleration of engine warming up after start-up and for automatic control of tempera-
ture mode at various loadings and ambient temperatures there is a thermostat that is in-
stalled on the chare line.
The coupling control drive is mechanical.
Two types of coupling clutch may be installed on the tractor “BELARUS-82.3”:
- coupling clutch manufactured by OJSC “MTW, Republic of Belarus, is frictional,
dry, of spring-loaded type with lever mechanism of pressure plate release. The clutch
overlays are ceramic-metal.
- coupling clutch manufactured in the EU is frictional, dry, single-disk, spring-loaded
type with central diaphragm spring. The clutch overlays are ceramic-metal.
The gearbox is synchromesh with double-lever control, with synchronized reduction
gear and reverse reduction gear (gearbox 14F+12R).
The rear axle is with the main drive (ring and pinion), differential and final drives.
Brakes: the service brakes are multidisc, operating in oil bath, located on final drive
pinion shafts; the parking brake is independent, with autonomous manual control. The
trailer brake control drive is single-line pneumatic, interlocked with tractor service brakes
control. Against order the tractor may not be equipped with the trailer brake pneumatic
drive then the tires are inflated through a valve of the pneumatic compressor.
The rear power takeoff (PTO) shaft is continuous dual-speed (540 and 1000 rpm)
and ground-speed, the direction of rotation is clockwise when viewed from the shaft end
face. There are PTO shafts PTO 1 (6 splines, 540 rpm), PTO 1c (8 splines, 540 rpm),
PTO 2 (21 splines, 1000 rpm).
