6.8.2 Possible failures of tires and instructions for prevention and trouble-
shooting
The list of possible failures of tires and instructions for their prevention and trouble-
shooting are given in table 6.8.2.
Table 6.8.2
Failure,
external manifestation, cause
Prevention and troubleshooting
Premature wear of the tread pattern over the entire tread surface
Failure to comply with the rules of
operation or use of tires in conditions
not typical for agricultural tires. Use
on public roads, with the volume of
work performed over 60%.
Poor quality manufacturing of tires
Set the tire pressure in accordance with subsection
3.2.8 "Selection of optimal inner pressure in tires de-
pending on operational conditions and load on tractor
axles, instructions for use of tires". Check the FDA ac-
tivation mode. Do not allow an increase in transporta-
tion work over 60%
Premature wear of the tread pattern in the center
Non-compliance with the rates of
loads and internal pressures in the
tire. Over-pressure
Set the tire pressure in accordance with subsection 3.2.8
"Selection of optimal inner pressure in tires depending
on operational conditions and load on
tractor axles,
instructions for use of tires"
Premature wear of the tread pattern over the edges of the tread
Non-compliance with the rates of
internal pressures in the tire. Under-
pressure
Set the tire pressure in accordance with subsection 3.2.8
"Selection of optimal inner pressure in tires depending
on operational conditions and load on tractor axles,
instructions for use of tires"
Sawlike (wavy) wear of the tread pattern
Intensive use on paved roads, includ-
ing with the engaged front axle. Trac-
tor malfunctions (violation of wheel
alignment angles). Malfunctions of the
running system (curvature of the ax-
les, wear of bearings, etc.)
On paved roads, turn off the front axle. Check the
technical condition of the tractor, if there are faults,
eliminate them.
Set tire pressure according to actual
load in operation
One-sided and spotty tire tread wear (mainly for front tires)
Front wheel misalignment. Work
on roads with a large slope and
low tire pressure.
Improper driving
(sharp starting, braking, skidding).
Long-time use in plowing mode
Adjust the alignment of the front wheels as described
in Section 5 "Maintenance". Set the tire pressure in
accordance with the current load in operation. On
paved roads, increase the pressure by 30 kPa, but
not more than the maximum allowed in accordance
with subsection 3.2.8
"Selection of optimal inner pres-
sure in tires depending on operational conditions and
load on tractor axles, instructions for use of tires".
In
the field, avoid frequent work at high torques.
Lamination of cover rubbers by parts, lamination of the carcass and breaker at
the place of technological defects (folds, rarefaction of the cord, presence of air bub-
bles)
Production reason
The possibility of elimination shall be established by a
qualified specialist of the tire manufacturer
