When using the position control method, the draft regulator ensures automatic support
of the set position of the agricultural machine relative to the tractor's frame. The use of position
control in tillage with mounted plows, cultivators for continuous and inter-row tillage, as well as
in deep ripping is recommended in conditions of flat fields.
On wide-cut machines coupled to a tractor, it is necessary to use support wheels when
working in the position control mode in order to eliminate transverse skewing of the agricultural
machine, improve the straightness of the machine movement and create better conditions for
copying the terrain in transverse (relative to the tractor's movement) direction.
When preparing the machine for operation using the position control method, do the fol-
lowing:
- set the upper link 2 ( Figure 2.14.2) of the lift linkage onto the upper hole of the clevis
1 (position "A" in Figure 2.14.2);
- connect the mounted implement (machine) to the tractor's RLL;
- if necessary, make adjustments to the RLL and the mounted implements.
- enable position control, for which purpose raise the mounted implement (machine) to
the extreme upper position and insert the switch 4 into the slot of the positioning lever 6 by
turning the switch to the right (in the tractor travel direction) to position "I". For easier engaging
before inserting the switch into the slot, move it forward (in the tractor travel direction) until it
aligns with the slot on the lever 6;
- Turn the correction speed handwheel 3 counterclockwise until it stops, setting the
maximum raising speed for automatic position corrections.
At the beginning of the run, set the mounted machine in the required position. Lowering
is carried out by shifting handle 2 (Figure 2.14.1) forwards. The further forward the handle is
set, the lower the machine will be lowered. After setting the machine in the required height po-
sition, move the limiter 1 against the stop in the handle and lock it.
At the end of the run to lift the implement into the transport position, turn the handle 2
toward you against the stop. When raising is complete, the handle should automatically return
to the neutral "N" position.
At the beginning of each subsequent run, lower the implement by pushing the handle 2
until it stops into limiter 1.
Depth control can be used when coupling the tractor with mounted machines equipped
with support wheels. It means that a given tillage depth is ensured by setting the height of a
certain support wheel of the agricultural machine coupled to the tractor.
For depth control, raise the RLL to the extreme upper position and then set the switch 4
(Figure 2.14.2) in the middle position N. To lift the machine, turn the handle 2 (Figure 2.14.1)
against the stop towards the driver, and hold it until the raising is finished, after which the han-
dle should automatically return to the neutral position "N". Lowering is performed by shifting
the handle 2 into the regulation zone until the machine starts lowering.
The upper link 2 (Figure 2.14.2) of the lift linkage must be installed on the lower hole of
the clevis 1 (position "C" in Figure 2.14.2);
With the depth control set, if a mounted machine is attached to the RLL, the handle 2
must not be set to the "forced lowering" position (forward against the stop). Use the "forced
lowering" position only when connecting the machine to the tractor lift linkage. Turn the handle
2 to the extreme front position for forced lowering. After releasing the handle, it should return
to the regulation zone (intermediate neutral) and lowering of the RLL should stop.
2.14.3 RLL control without a draft regulator
When installing the distributor RP70-890.1 (without draft regulator) the RLL control is
carried out by the handle 4 (Figure 2.16.1) of the distributor control. Rules for control of the
RLL with the distributor RP70-890.1 are given in paragraph 2.16.1.
