RK512 Each telegram can send a maximum of 128 bytes of data. Larger data quantities are divided among
several telegrams. The RK512 protocol lets you "link" telegrams to generate sequence telegrams (see
Tables 6–24 (page 263) and 6–25 (page 264)). Here, the transfer of more than 128 bytes (number data
word) will be announced in the telegram header of the first telegram already. Once received, the data
divided among the telegrams will be re-arranged in the correct order.
When a telegram is sent with RK512, a reaction telegram is also sent from the receiver to the sender
containing information about the transmission and any transfer errors that may have occurred.
3964R With this protocol, each telegram can also send a maximum of 128 bytes of data only. Larger data
quantities are divided among several telegrams. Every telegram is a complete package, so there are no
sequence telegrams (see Table 6–26 (page 264)). By addressing directly consecutive memory areas, the
3964R protocol can also re-arrange larger data quantities that were transferred in different telegrams in
the correct order.
No reaction telegrams are used with the 3964 protocol. Only "block check sum" (BCC) and "positive
acknowledgement" (DLE) are used for data security.
