Troubleshooting 7
Source switched off On the OPUS Measure menu, select the
Advanced Measurement command.
Click the Optic tab.
Select the correct source type from the Source
setting drop-down list.
Defective source, or not cor-
rectly inserted. The following
error message pops up:
Source is broken or not con
-
nected.
Check whether the light source is inserted prop-
erly.
Replace the light source, if it is defective
(chapter
6.3).
Beamsplitter is not properly
installed. The following error
message pops up: NOT
SCANNING. Laser-A modula
-
tion too small, Laser-B modu-
lation too small, Laser signal
modulation is too small.
Check whether the beamsplitter is properly
installed, and the laser signals are in the specified
voltage range (chapter
6.2).
Beamsplitter is damaged. Replace the beamsplitter (chapter 5.8).
Check the signal (chapter 5.6).
Red ERR LED on the elec-
tronic mobile unit lights, i.e.
there is a spectrometer error,
e.g. strong mechanical
shocks have caused a tempo
-
rary or permanent optics mis-
alignment or the HeNe laser
is defective.
In case of an optics misalignment, contact
Bruker service.
In case of a defective laser, a warning pops up in
OPUS. Replace the laser unit. Contact Bruker
service.
More details are described in chapter 7.6.2.1.
Defective power supply Check the power supply LEDs on the mobile
electronics unit.
If none of the LEDs lights are on, the power sup-
ply unit probably needs to be replaced.
