4.7 Input ports
Ensuring electromagnetic shielding requires a conductive connection between acces-
sory and spectrometer, and a complete metallic enclosure of the accessory without any
slits or openings larger than 4
cm are required. Unused ports have always to be covered
with (metallic) blank flanges.
If the port opening has a clear aperture of more than 4 cm, the port will not be shielded
any more according to electromagnetic compatibility as soon as the blank flange is
removed.
NOTE
Clear port aperture of port opening >4 cm:
No shield safety according to EMC

requirements.
➣ Accessory connected must ensure complete EMC shielding.
