10.3 User input/output signals (UIO signals)
The UIO signals are useful to synchronize externally performed experiments, i.e. experi-
ments performed outside the spectrometer.
10.3.1 Pin assignment
UDQENA is only active during data acquisition, gating the actual data acquisition.
XAOUT are the digitized zero crossings used for interferogram sampling. TKDAM is
active while the interferometer is within the scanner range, where the XAOUT pulses are
used for data acquisition. TKDAM is also active if no data are acquired, it just marks the
scanner to be in the proper position.
User input/output plug pinout
UDQENA: Data acquisition enable
XAOUT: Sampling points
URET: Ground external (galvanically iso-
lated from spectrometer)
VCC: +5 V internal
UCC: +5 V external (galvanically isolated
from spectrometer)
TKDAM: Take data
FWD: Forward
GND: Ground internal
Left: recommended connection with full galvanic isolation (requires external 5 V supply)
Right: connection without galvanic isolation (no external supply required); R = 2200 Ohm
