B CAN Bus con-
nector
The CAN connector is primarily used to communicate with
external automated units, e.g. sample changers, moving
mirror units. The CAN bus also supplies power to these
units. Thus, most external units can be operated without
connecting them to the power supply.
Furthermore, the bus can be used as a communication
link to control self-supplied external units via the spec
-
trometer.
C Power switch
➣ Spectrometer is switched on or off.
➣ Switch interrupts or establishes the low-voltage sup-
ply.
Spectrometer is switched off, but power plug is still
connected to mains socket outlet
Danger of short circuit
➣ Disconnect the power plug at the external power sup-
ply from the mains socket outlet.
Spectrometer is switched on too quickly after it had
been switched off
Blown fuses and/or damages on power supply switch
➣ If you have switched off the spectrometer, wait at
least 30 seconds before switching it on again. This
avoids peaks in the initial current.
D Primary power
receptacle
The low-voltage socket is used to connect the low-voltage
cable of the power supply unit to the mobile electronics
unit.
