1. INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing a POWER+ SA UPS system. The POWER+ SA is one of the most
sophisticated UPSs on the market today.
In general, an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) provides backup power for use when the
utility ac electric power mains fail or drop to an unacceptable voltage level. P
OWER+ SA
is a
whole lot more.

OWER+ SA
is designed to protect your data and equipment and minimize downtime and
other adverse effects normally incurred by power irregularities and failures.
P
OWER+ SA
continually eliminates surges, spikes and sags that are inherent in commercial
utility power. Over time, these irregularities shorten the life of equipment and components.
The efficiency of P
OWER+ SA thus helps to extend the life of your equipment, even through
normal use when the input power system is constant and continuous.

OWER+ SA
requires very little attention or intervention during normal operation; however,
you should read and understand the procedures described in this manual to ensure trouble-
free operation.

OWER+ SA is a parallel redundant UPS – in the event of a failure of one power board, the
UPS continues to operate and the remaining power boards compensate for the missing
board (within limits).

OWER+ SA is available in models supplying 10 kVA, 20 kVA, 30 kVA, and 40 kVA.
This document describes the 20, 30, and 40 kVA models.
1.1 POWER+ SA has many unique features:
