6.6 Power-up (Initial Startup)
Initial startup refers to applying power to the UPS for the first time or after connection to
both mains and battery has been interrupted.
Note: Initial startup can be performed with or without modules inserted into Power+ SA.
Before initial startup of the system, make sure that the load is not connected. If a
maintenance bypass switch is installed, make sure it is Off (not conducting).
1. Turn On the ac input and ac bypass switches. Wait approximately 2 minutes for
Power+ SA to initialize.
Note that there is no need to press the
(ON/OFF) button on the Power+ SA
control panel.
Power+ SA begins the startup process, during which the LEDs are checked
sequentially and the Display Panel shows the following sequence of four screens
(details may vary slightly depending on system configuration).
In the 2 minutes it takes Power+ SA to initialize, it builds up DC power, brings up all
the module inverters, and compares the output of the Inverter to the mains voltage.
When synchronization is reached, you will hear the click of the synchronization
contactor on the Static Switch, followed by two additional clicks of the Static Switch
marking the change over from Bypass to Inverter power.
At start-up, the following screen sequence appears:
