Analyzer
warmup Time: 30 minutes.
The nominal frequency of the cavity oscillator is 2.982
GHz,
but it varies with
temperature. This procedure determines the precise frequency of the cavity
oscillator at a particular temperature by identifying a known spur
Note
You should perform this procedure with the recommended
filter, or a filter with at least 50
dB
of rejection at 2.9
GHz,
and a
passband
which includes 800 MHz. The filter makes spur
identification substantially faster and more reliable.
With the filter, you need to distinguish between only two spurs, each of which
should be 10
dB
to 20
dB
(3 to 4 divisions) above the trace noise.
Without the filter, you need to
distinguish
the target spur between four or five
spurs, each of which may be 0.002 to 0.010
dB
(invisible to 2 divisions) above or
below the trace noise.
