CAUTION
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
• Never change or modify Acoustic Stando. Other-
wise, the function / performance cannot be guaran-
teed.
• Do not use it together with a defibrillator. Other-
wise, performance degradation or a failure of the
transducer can occur.
• Do not use anything (mineral oil, lubricant, lotion,
uids that contain organic solvents, etc.) other than
ultrasound gels for ultrasound imaging and the
cleaners and disinfectants described in this manu-
al.
• Do not stretch Acoustic Stando unnecessarily, or
attach it in an unspecified manner. Otherwise, it
can be broken.
• Do not apply a strong force to Acoustic Standoff.
Otherwise, it can become deformed / broken.
• Do not use Acoustic Standoff together with the
biopsy adapter. Forcibly attaching both Acoustic
Stando and the biopsy adapter to the transducer
can result in damage to them.
• Be careful to prevent foreign objects from adhering
to the Acoustic Stando surface. Clean / disinfect
the surface if any foreign objects. Use of Acoustic
Standoff with adherents remaining on its surface
for an examination can result in an erroneous diag-
nosis.
• When the ultrasound gel between the lens and
Acoustic Standoff of the transducer being used
becomes insufficient, temporarily detach Acous-
tic Standoff, wipe the ultrasound gel off Acoustic
Stando and the transducer, and then follow the at-
tachment procedure in Usage to reattach Acoustic
Stando. Replenishing ultrasound gel while forcibly
stretching Acoustic Stando can damage Acoustic
Stando and the transducer.
• When cleaning Acoustic Standoff, use a piece of
gauze, soft sponge, etc. and avoid scrubbing it with
sharp objects.
• It is possible to use it for a nerve block injection
or biopsy procedure; however, avoid punctur-
ing Acoustic Standoff with an injection or biopsy
needle. Otherwise, there is a possibility that Acous-
tic Standoff is broken and some parts of broken
Acoustic Standoff enter the patient’s body or that
the needle is clogged.
• Store the ultrasound gel as described in the in-
struction manual. Otherwise, there is a risk of infec-
tion.

8.3.2 Usage
For the handling of transducers, see "8.1 Transducer".
For the operation of the system, see the corresponding
sections in Operation Manuals: Fundamentals / Appli-
cations.
Attach Acoustic Stando to one of the following trans-
ducers.
Do not attach it to any other transducer.

Use and store Acoustic Stando in the following loca-
tions:
• Where it is not exposed to direct sunlight or radiation
such as X-rays
• Where little dust is present
• Where it is free of vibration

Before use
• Check Acoustic Stando for any abnormalities such
as breakage, cut and deformation. Even before the
expiry date, do not use it if something abnormal is
found.
• Always clean / disinfect Acoustic Standoff before
use. (It is not cleaned / disinfected by default at the
time of purchase.)
• To attach Acoustic Stando to the transducer, wear
disinfected / sterilized gloves.
