2.1.2 Flat Bed Scanner (FBS) section
The FBS (Flat Bed Scanner) section consists of document glass (pane) and optical reading section (CIS).
The CIS (Contact Image Sensor) carried on CIS holder keeps the focal length by moving along the pane.
CIS moves and thereby exposes the lamp light uniformly to the document. The FBS motor drives the timing
belt on which the CIS holder is mounted. It drives the CIS holder at a speed adjusted by copy, scan or fax
mode and resolution.
The original position of the CIS holder is where the home sensor is. This position is also the home position
for scanning operation.
