2.12.7 Air pressure switch
An air pressure switch is installed on the upper left of the pneumatics assembly at the
entrance to the Filter Regulator unit. This switch monitors the supply line pressure and
electrically closes when it experiences a pressure of 3.1 bar (45 psi) or greater and opens
if the pressure falls below 3.1 bar (45 psi).
Tools required
• adjustable channel lock pliers
Removal
1. Remove top cover and left side panel; see section 2.1 "Mill covers" on page 94.
2. Disconnect the air supply line from the back of the mill.
The air line must be released of pressure prior to disconnecting the hose or damage
to the orange one-touch fitting can occur.
3. Disconnect the inline electrical connector.
4. Unscrew the pressure switch from the fitting. If required use pliers to remove the old
switch.
The use of pliers is only allowed to permanently remove the faulty switch, as the pli-
ers will damage the switch housing possibly causing unexpected failure if reused.
Do not reinstall a pressure switch that was removed with pliers.
Install
1. Thread the new air pressure switch into the inlet fitting and tighten by hand till fully
seated.
Do not use a key or pliers on the switch to install as this will damage the housing
causing possible unexpected failure.
2. Reconnect the inline electrical connector.
3. Reconnect the air supply line, apply pressure and verify that there are no leaks.
4. Reinstall the top and left side panel, see section 2.1 "Mill covers" on page 94.
