Technical manual Planmeca PlanMill 40 5
Chapter A: General and technical data
1 Introduction
The Planmeca PlanMill 40 is a state-of-the-art, computer-driven, four linear axes milling
dual spindle machine designed to create dental restorations based on digital images
acquired from the design components of the Planmeca CAD/CAM system.
Operators use the Planmeca PlanScan Scanner connected to the PlanScan Laptop to
scan the image of preparation into the system. Once the image is retrieved, the CAD/CAM
module of Planmeca Romexis Software on the PlanScan Laptop is used for designing a
restoration. After the restoration design is ready, it is transmitted to the Jobserver for
toolpath calculus via a TCP/IP network connection. Before milling the PlanMill 40 retrieves
the calculated jobs from the Jobserver.
This manual contains instructions for maintenance, calibrating, troubleshooting and
repairing the Planmeca PlanMill 40 milling unit. In addition, this manual provides general
