1.Overview
The FP6 is a tool that is used to erase, write, and verify programs on a Renesas Electronics on-chip flash
memory MCU on the target system.
1.1 Features
• Standalone programming
• Programming through the dedicated FP6 Terminal GUI under PC control
• Selectable from among up to eight programming environments
• Specialized for use on production lines (command control via serial communication and remote control of
signals from external devices)
• Programming of a unique code to a designated area of flash memory
• The FP6 Manager allows the customization required in development and mass-production, such as
prevention of a programming operator from modifying the programming settings.
• Self-testing function
• Support for simultaneous programming by FP6 Gang Programmer gang programming GUI, with the use
of up to 12 PG-FP6 units*

• Enhancement of the FP6 Manager and the encryption of program files to improve security against theft*

• Compatibility with the PG-FP5 interface allows the utilization of setting files that were for use with the PG-
FP5.
