5. POWER STEERING PUMP
1） Inspection and adjustment
① If the oil pump is defective, replace the ass’y.
② After completion of service, start the engine, turn the steering wheel in both directions at idling speed
（several times）to discharge the air, stop the engine and check the transmission oil.
NOTE：
Turn the steering wheel fully at this time not to allow the relief valve to work.
It is recommendable to lift the front
wheels.
④ Tighten the oil pipe to the bottom of the pump with following torque.

6. POWER STEERING CYLINDER
1） Removal
Refer to“3－1 Front Axle”for removal of power
steering cylinder from the front axle.
2） Inspection
a. Oil leakage is evident from the cylinder, replace
the cylinder with new one.
b. Measure the clearance between each bush and
pin, if the service limit is exceeded replace the
bush and pin.
