14.2.3. Installing the main application
Download and follow the instructions to install the AT Editor software. The
installation program will suggest a folder in which to place the Editor files:
c:\Program Files\Voltech Instruments\Voltech AT Editor
This directory will be created if it does not already exist. If you want to place the
files elsewhere, browse to another directory.
If you have a previous version of the Editor software already installed on your PC,
the procedure outlined above may also be used to install a new version. None of
your program files will be lost. The same Editor program is used for all AT Series
testers (excluding the discontinued AT3500 and AT1000).
14.3. Starting for the first time
14.3.1. Running the software
When the installation of the Editor has been completed, you will see the Editor
icon in the program group ‘Voltech Software’. Click with the left mouse button on
the Editor icon to start the program.
14.3.2. Language Configuration
Once the Editor program is open, from the Top Level ‘Setup’ menu, select
‘Language’. In the dialogue box, select the language and the click OK to save.
14.3.3. Communications Configuration
Configure the Editor to use the virtual COM Port installed for the AT5600 (see
14.2.2):
From the Top Level ‘Setup’ menu, select ‘Communications’.
In the dialogue box shown here, select the PC communications port which is
connected to the tester and the click OK to save
IMPORTANT : If the chosen ‘COM’ port is reserved by another Windows
application; an error message will appear. You should select another port.
