5.6 Operational Principles
The 6166 amplifier configurations for constant voltage output and constant current output are shown in the
following figures.
Figure 5-10 shows the circuit configuration for constant voltage output, and the output voltage is obtained as
follows:
Switching Rf sets the range and setting Eref specifies the output level.
Figure 5-11 shows the circuit configuration for constant current output, and the output current is obtained as
follows:
Switching Rs sets the range and setting Eref specifies the output level.
Figure 5-12 shows the circuit configuration for divider voltage output and thermal electromotive force out-
put, and the output voltage is obtained as follows:
Switching R2 sets the range and setting Eref specifies the output level.
For thermal electromotive force output, the range is fixed (equivalent to 1000 mV).
Eref is a high-resolution and high-linearity D/A converter using a PWM (pulse width modulation) system.
E is a power supply that outputs up to 1200 V.
