Chapter 6 Connect to Different EtherNet/IP Network Levels
The controller connects to the network levels via the Ethernet ports. The ports
function as follows:
• Port X1 - Connect to an enterprise-level network only. You can only use
this port with the COS.
• Port B1 - Connect to an enterprise-level or a device-level network.
• Ports A1 and A2 - Connect to device-level networks only. In DLR/
Linear mode, the ports can connect to the same EtherNet/IP network.
In Dual-IP mode, ports A1 and A2 connect to separate EtherNet/IP
networks, that is, different subnets.
Figure 17 shows an example application in which the controller is connected to
an enterprise-level network and device-level networks.
