3 Prepare the standard solutions.
a Dissolve and dilute the Low and High solutions included in the
calibrator.
b Add Low solution to two sample cups, and High solution to
another two sample cups.
• Each sample cup requires a minimum of 400 L of solution.
c Set the standard solutions in the calibration rack as shown on the
right.
To read the standard values from the calibration information
barcodes:
Go to step 4.
To perform HbA1c calibration following normal measurements,
always use the calibration information barcodes to read the
standard values.
To enter the standard values from the operator panel:
Skip to step 5.
4 Label the sample tubes with calibration information barcode labels (when needed).
The following information can be read from the calibration information barcode labels by the internal barcode reader:
• Standard values of the standard solutions
• Reagent information on the calibrator (lot number and expiration date)
If you want to manually enter the standard values from the operator panel, skip to step 5.
a Attach the calibration information barcode labels for the Variant
mode and Fast mode to each of two empty sample tubes.
• See step 2 in “2.5.1. Preparing Samples” on page 2-19.
NOTE:
For sample tubes of about 13 mm diameter, set the port guide.
For sample tubes of about 15 mm diameter, remove the port guide. Sample tubes of this size cannot fit in
the rack due to the port guide.
Do not mix sample tubes of 13 mm and 15 mm diameters in the calibration rack (CAL).
