5.4 Wheel Bearing Housing, Removing and
Installing
Removing
– Remove drive axle, refer to
⇒ “6.3 Drive Axle, Removing and Installing”, page 101 .
– Loosen the but from the lower control arm and remove the ball
stud using the Ball Joint Removal Tool - T10444- -1-.
– Remove nut.
– Remove wheel bearing housing.
Installing
Installation is the reverse of removal, with special attention to the
following:
Note
The tapered holes and the contact surfaces on the outer circum‐
ference of the wheel bearing must be free of oil, grease and
preserving agent.
– Install the drive axle, refer to

Tightening specifications, refer to

Bonded rubber bushings can only be turned to a limited extent.
Only tighten suspension screws when vehicle is in curb weight
or control position.
