– Pull in the drive axle.

– Tighten the threaded connections at the wheel bearing hous‐
ing by hand.
Note
Only bolt the wheel bearing housing when the dimension “a” is
reached, refer to
⇒ “1.4 Wheel Bearing in Curb Weight, Lifting Vehicles with Coil
Spring”, page 118 and
⇒ “1.5 Wheel Bearing in Control Position, Lifting Vehicles with Air
Suspension”, page 120 .
– Tighten the threaded connections on the wheel bearing hous‐
ing, refer to
⇒ “6.1 Wheel Bearing Housing, Wheel Hub and Wheel Bearing
Overview”, page 168 .
– If the vehicle has an air suspension, fill the system using the
Vehicle Diagnosis Tester.
– Loosen the 12-point nut for the drive axle on the wheel hub,
refer to
⇒ “7.2 Drive Axle Outer Joint Twelve Point Nut, Loosening and
Tightening”, page 181 .
– Install the wheel and tighten the wheel bolts, refer to ⇒ Rep.
Gr. 44 .
