– Remove screws -arrows- and air supply unit with solenoid
valve block.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
Tightening specifications, refer to
⇒ “4.4 Air Supply Unit and Solenoid Valve Block Overview”, page
225 .
– Place vehicle on wheels, refer to
⇒ “4 Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels”, page 10 .
If the air supply unit was replaced, then the Level Control System
Compressor Relay - J403- must also be replaced. Component
location: Refer to Wiring Diagrams.
4.7 Air Supply Unit Upper Section, Remov‐
ing and Installing
Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Torque Wrench 1410 - VAG1410-
Caution
♦ Do not clean the air supply unit with chemical or with a
high pressure cleaner.
♦ Use a lint-free cloth to clean the air supply unit.
♦ Make absolutely sure that no dirt enters the open air lines/
air line connections, connectors and electrical connec‐
tions.
Disassembling
– Remove the air supply unit, the bracket and the solenoid valve
block, refer to
⇒ “4.6 Air Supply Unit with Solenoid Valve Block, Removing
and Installing”, page 230 .
– Free up the air line -1- at the retainers -2-. Push the locking
rings -arrows- downward and remove the air line -1-.
– Push the locking ring -arrow- downward and remove the air
line -1- to the solenoid valve block.
