❑ Removing and Installing, refer to ⇒ “3.4 Upper Control Arm, Removing and Installing”, page 53 .
❑ Conical pin must be free of grease and oil.
❑ If necessary, clean using dry rag, do not use cleaning agents.
28 - Bolt
❑ Always replace if removed.
29 - Bolt
❑ Always replace if removed.
30 - Self-Locking Nut
❑ 50 Nm + 90°
❑ Always replace if removed.
3.2 Coil Spring Suspension Strut, Removing
and Installing
Special tools and workshop equipment required
♦ Torque Wrench 1332 40-200Nm - VAG1332-
♦ Engine/Gearbox Jack - VAG1383A-
♦ Bits for Bits for VAG1331/13 - 12mm - T10099- or Bits for Bits
for VAG1331/13 - 14mm - T10099/1-
♦ Engine/Gearbox Jack Adapter - Wheel Hub Support - T10149-
♦ Puller - Ball Joint - T10187-
Removing
– Remove the wheel.
– Remove the bolt -2-.
– Disconnect drive axle from rear final drive. Use Bits for Bits for
VAG1331/13 - 12mm - T10099- or Bits for Bits for
VAG1331/13 - 14mm - T10099/1- to loosen bolts -3-.
– Remove nut from tie rod end and press tie rod end off of wheel
bearing housing.
