3.6 Level Control System Control Module -
J197- , Removing and Installing
Removing
– If control module is replaced, select “Replace” function for re‐
spective control module in “Guided Fault Finding”.
Use -Vehicle Diagnostic Tester- for this.
– Remove the luggage compartment floor covering and vehicle
tool kit on right side.
– Release and remove the connectors -arrows- from the control
module.
– Remove control module -1-.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
– Level Control System Control Module - J197- , adapting

page 220 .

– Connect -Vehicle Diagnostic Tester- and then perform vehicle-
specific entry into Guided Fault Finding and select Go To
button “function/component selection”

Then
– “Chassis (Repair group 01; 40 - 49)”
– “34 - Level control (Repair group 01: 43, 44)”.
– “01 - On Board Diagnostic (OBD) capable systems”
– “J197 - Level control system control module functions”.
– “J197 - Replace control module”.
Note
If the level control system control module was adapted on a ve‐
hicle with lane assist, then the Directional Stabilization Assistance
Control Module - J759- must be calibrated, refer to
⇒ “7.2 Calibration Procedure”, page 271 .
3.8 Body Acceleration Sensor, Checking
Acceleration Signal
– Connect -Vehicle Diagnostic Tester- and then perform vehicle-
specific entry into Guided Fault Finding and select Go To
button “function/component selection”, refer to
⇒ “2.6 Vehicle Diagnostic Tester , Connecting and Selecting
Functions”, page 211 .
Then
