Outer Drive Axle Joint, Removing and Installing
Removing
– Remove both clamps from CV boot.
– Remove protective boot from outer joint.
– Drive outer joint off drive axle by hitting forcefully using a plas‐
tic hammer.
Installing
– Before installing CV joint or triple roller star, splines -A- must
be lightly coated with grease used in joint.
– Insert the new sealing ring in groove on shaft.
– Slide on CV joint up to sealing ring.
– Align sealing ring at center with opening upward
-see arrows-.
– Drive CV joint onto shaft with plastic hammer until circlip en‐
gages.
– Large and small clamps, tensioning on inner or outer joint, re‐
fer to

Inner CV joint, Removing and Installing
Removing
– Remove both clamps from CV boot.
– Pull off CV boot from inner joint.
– Drive off inner joint cover.
Remove circlip using Circlip Pliers - VW161A- .
