Removing
Brief Description:
Subframe is removed using scissor lift table. Front mounting
points of engine carrier must be secured using shorter bolts. The
subframe is removed together with: the steering gear, the front
final drive, the control arms and the wheel bearing housings. The
suspension struts with mounting brackets and upper control arms
remain on vehicle.
Affects Vehicles with Air Suspension
– Place vehicle on hoist, refer to
⇒ “4 Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels”, page 10 .
– Perform system vent using -Vehicle Diagnostic Tester- , refer
to ⇒ “3.9 System, Venting or Filling”, page 221 .
Applies to All
– Remove the front wheels.
– Remove noise insulation, refer to ⇒ Rep. Gr. 50 .
– Remove the left front wheel housing liner, refer to ⇒ Rep. Gr.
