If the power steering pump gets stuck in its mount, mount a

socket -1- on the bushing.
♦
Insert the M8 x 70 bolt -2- inside the power steering pump and
push the bushing out of the power steering pump mount by
turning the bolt.
Installing
• Torque specification; refer to ⇒ page 378 .
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Clean oiled places in engine compartment.
♦
Before installing new power steering pump on intake side, fill
hydraulic oil and screw in by hand until oil escapes on pressure
side.
♦
Always replace seals.
♦
Secure all hose connections with hose clamps appropriate to
the model, refer to the Parts Catalog.
– Install the bushing for the bolt by mounting the power steering
pump.
Note
Bushings that a hard to move must be freed up otherwise the
clamping strength of the bushing will not be sufficient even
through the tightening specification is correct.
– Turn the hub by hand until oil runs out of the pressure side.
– Mount the power steering pump to the bracket.
– Tighten the bolts in sequence -1 and 2- as illustrated.
– Attach the ribbed belt pulley to the power steering pump using
Wrench - Pin Type - 3212- to counter-hold if necessary.
– Secure suction hose with new hose clamp. Note the installed
position of the intake hose, refer to ⇒ page 380 .
– Install the refrigerant lines, refer to ⇒ Rep. Gr. 87 .
– Fill the refrigerant circuit, refer to ⇒ Rep. Gr. 87 .
– Install the ribbed belt, refer to ⇒ Rep. Gr. 13 .
– Check power steering fluid level, refer to ⇒ page 310 .
– Bleed steering system ⇒ page 311 .
– Check steering system for proper seal ⇒ page 312 .
