5.4.2.8 Operation 17. Draining of sediment from coarse fuel filter
Coarse fuel filter 3 (figure 5.4.14) is installed on engine 1 on the right side along the
tractor.
1 engine; 2 oil filler neck; 3 coarse fuel filter.

To drain sediment from the coarse fuel filter, do the following:
- open drain plug 1 (figure 5.4.15) of coarse fuel filter 2;
- drain sediment until clean fuel appears, the sediment should be drained into a special
container;
- after the appearance of clean fuel without water and dirt, put drain plug 1 back.

5.4.2.9 Operation 18. Cleaning of filter cartridges of cab ventilation and heating system
To clean the filter of the cab heating and ventilation system it is necessary to do the fol-
lowing:
- raise cab roof 1 (figure 5.4.16);
- undo two fastening bolts and remove filter cover 2 together with two filtering cartridges 3;
- shake the cartridges slightly to remove free particles of dust from the filter; be cautious
so that not to damage the filter;
- clean the filters with compressed air under the pressure of not higher than 0.2 MPa.
Hold the tube cap at the distance not closer that 300 mm from the filter so that not to damage
the paper filter cartridge. Direct air flow through the filter in the direction which is reverse to the
normal air flow traffic, shown by arrows on the filter;
- mount the filter performing the operations in reverse order, close the cab roof.

ATTENTION: DO NOT SWITCH THE FAN ON BEFORE CLEANING THE FILTER AT
HIGH HUMIDITY OF THE ENVIRONMENT, FOR EXAMPLE IN THE MORNING, AS IT IS HARD TO
REMOVE MOISTURE PARTICLES FROM THE FILTER!
ATTENTION: WHEN OPERATING THE TRACTOR IN HARD OPERATING CONDI-
TIONS AND IN HIGH DUST, THIS OPERATION MUST BE CARRIED OUT AFTER EVERY 8-
10 HOURS OF WORK, I.E. EVERY SHIFT!
