4.3 Checking the Connection Box
If you answer one of the following questions with „No“, you have to
record the action you have taken to remedy this deficiency in the
last column. Make sure before you take the device into operation
again that the provisions you have taken are correct by consulting
with the person in charge of explosion protection.

Is the interior (connection box) in perfect order?
Is the interior dry, clean and free of foreign material?
Are the cables connected firmly?
Are the terminals in perfect order?
Are the interior and the printed circuit boards free of
corrosion?
Is the insulation free of damages or crawling traces?
Is the mechanical fastening of the fixtures in good
working order?
Has the device been installed according to instruc-
tions?
Are cables and lines inserted properly?
Is the ground conductor properly installed?
Checking the status of the flameproof joints on the housing cover and the housing
Is the thread on the cover or on the housing free of
corrosion?
Are the screw threads on the cover and the housing
free of scratches and other damages ?
Are the thread turns free of foreign bodies?
Has the thread been sufficiently greased?
Leak test
Is the connection box free of humidity and free of
crawling traces caused by infiltrated humidity?
Is the sealing inside the screw fitting OK?
Is the O-ring for the sealing of the cover OK? (the O-
ring is visisble from the outside at the edge of the
cover)
