4 Calibration with
SIMATIC PDM
Prerequisites for calibration with
SIMATIC PDM
The level measuring system Uni-Probe LB 490 has to be
installed and connected correctly (see Uni-Probe LB 490 User’s
Manual Volume 2).
SIMATIC PDM and Uni-Probe Device Description have to be
installed and configured correctly (see chapter 2.1).
The SIMATIC PDM software has to be started and the device to
be calibrated must be open in the user mode Specialist (see
chapter 2.2).
4.1 Preparing Calibration
First operation of the system:
Set the basic configuration of the Uni-Probe (see page 4.1.3).
Calibration of a system that has already been taken into opera-
tion:
If you are sure that the detector and basic configuration of the
Uni-Probe is correct, you can immediately start with the calibration
of the measuring system (see chapter 4.2).
Otherwise proceed as follows:
If a password has been defined for the Uni-Probe in the user
status Specialist, revoke the password protection.
Clear the password protection, if set (see page page 6–570).
Reset the Uni-Probe to the factory settings (see page 6–602).
Set the parameters for the detector HV (see page 6–602).
Set the basic parameters for the Uni-Probe (see page 6–604).
