PASSWORD Ta b On the PASSWORD tab you can edit a password or define a new
password.
IMPORTANT
After installation an empty password is preset (there is no formal
password). To be on the safe side, the specialist should assign a
password.
The password defined here will be queried on the USER dialog box
which appears when you open a project - provided the quers has
been defined on SETTINGSUSER menu.
Enter the old password into the
OLD PASSWORD text box. If no
password has yet been defined, leave the text box empty.
Enter the new password into the
NEW PASSWORD and CONFIR-
MATION
text boxes.
Click
OK to confirm the input.
TABLE Tab SIMATIC PDM shows an overview of all device parameters in a table
(see page 5–522).
On the
TABLE tab you can define the behavior after an input and
the layout in the display and during printing.
Select the options for the parameter table and confirm the set-
tings with
OK.
FONT Tab On the FONT tab you can set the fonts used for the display and for
printing the table.
Define the font format for the parameter table and confirm the
settings with
OK.
COMMUNICATION Tab On the COMMUNICATION tab you define the cycle time and the
options for the error lists.
Select the option for the communication error list and, if neces-
sary, change the cycle time.
IMPORTANT
After the installation, the cycle time for periodic communication
jobs is set to 1000 ms (corresponding to 1 s). You should not
reduce this value too far unnecessarily.
Confirm the input or selection with
OK.
LOG Tab SIMATIC PDM offers an integrated log tool, e.g. for trouble shooting
in case of communication problems.
On the
LOG tab you can activate it and determine which log mes-
sages are to be output. If you activate the log tool, a window with
the most important messages is displayed while SIMATIC PDM is
running. These messages can be printed out and saved.
The messages are listed in the order of their importance and the
following categories exist:
