If the process is started with “0” it takes 30s until the count
rate is read in. Otherwise, the duration of this process corre-
sponds to the averaging time entered.
“Reading” means that all incoming count rates are added up.
However, a count rate value which is standardized with respect
to one second is always displayed. Thus, an averaged count
rate is calculated.
Initially, the displayed count rate will vary significantly. At the
end of the averaging period it has to settle down. If this is not
the case, or only inadequately, then the process must be
repeated using a longer averaging time.
The count rates displayed in our example may be significantly
higher or lower, depending on the application.
Select YES and confirm the dialog with OK.
