3 In case of room-temperature detectors:
• Fasten the shim plate (see marking in figure)
to mount the detector.
• Make sure that no cable blocks the optical
path.
4 • Switch on the spectrometer.
• Check whether a signal

is detected and the optics works properly. More
details are described in chapter 5.6.
The detector signal may be optimized by slightly adjusting the last parabolic
mirror in front of the detector.
1. If applicable, the detector has to be cooled first.
