Chapter 16: Load Controllers
Load control system commissioning (cont.)
Upload Settings: Uploads the current load controller settings (PID, power limit, speed target etc.) to the
hardware. Press this button when changes have been made to the configuration.
Saving and Loading Configurations: You have ability to save different configurations if required. This
option allows for the quick changing of PID values if you require different settings for different
applications i.e. perhaps you have found the behaviour for very low power engines is different to that
required for very high power engines.
Last Runs PID Power: You can view a table of the PID’s output power that was applied during
the last configuration test, this may aid in checking performance.
PID Settings History: Allows viewing and loading of previous PID settings. A great
aid when tuning the PID settings as you can easily see your changes and revert to
previous ones. The button at the bottom of window loads the values you have
selected (click on a row to highlight) back into the main ‘Load Controller Setup’
window, no need to re-type.
Over Temperature Load Thermostat: Load controller has the ability to have an over temperature alarm fitted
to the retarder so that a software triggered warning can be imposed. This must be a temperature sensor of the
switch type, see later in this chapter on wiring connections to the auxiliary port of the load controller hardware.
