Huawei Quidway S9300

S9300s configured with default values can work normally. You can change the values of relevant
parameters according to the specific network environment. If there is no special requirement,
default values are recommended.
Pre-configuration Tasks
Before setting the forwarding control parameters, complete the following tasks:
l Configuring the unicast routing protocol to ensure that IP routes between nodes are
reachable
l 4.4 Configuring Basic PIM-SM Functions
Data Preparation
To set the forwarding control parameters, you need the following data.

1 Delay for transmitting Prune messages
2 Duration for overriding the prune operation
3 Timeout period of Join or Prune state
4 Interval for sending Join messages
4.10.2 Setting the Forwarding Control Parameters
Context
The forwarding control parameter can be configured globally or on an interface.
l The global configuration is valid for each interface.
l The configuration on an interface is valid only for the specified interface. The configuration
on an interface takes precedence over the global configuration. If the forwarding control
parameters are not set on the interface, the global configuration is used.
NOTE
The interval for S9300 sending Join or Prune messages is applicable only to the ASM model.
Procedure
l Setting the forwarding control parameters globally
1. Run:
system-view
The system view is displayed.
2. Run:
pim
The PIM view is displayed.
