1.8.4 Example for Configuring Layer 2 Multicast SSM Mapping
Networking Requirement
As shown in Figure 1-5, GE 2/0/0 of the S9300 is connected to the upstream multicast router;
GE 1/0/1 and GE 1/0/2 are connected to user hosts. The user hosts run IGMPv2 and do not
support IGMPv3.
The range of SSM group addresses on the current network is 232.0.0.0 to 232.255.255.255.
Source 1 and Source 2 send multicast data to the multicast group 232.1.1.1. It is required that
user hosts Host 1 and Host 2 receive only the multicast data from Source 2.
To meet this requirement, you need to configure SSM mapping on the S9300 to set up a mapping
between the multicast group and the multicast source.
